I am intrigued by the reconstruction and development in LA. Certainly there is an element of disregard for preserving the past, and an obsession with increasing the financial yield of every scrap of land.
I have an instinct to document all this; to create my own photographic journal.
I seek out these sites, as yet unoccupied, still skeletal and quiet.
The light and geometry of each site is important to me, but there is a profound sense of story or poetry that is unique to every place I photograph, and it is this that I hope is most affecting about the images.
